Spring in Japa…. The Netherlands

March 24, 2011. The sun has been shining against a clear blue sky for several days, signaling the beginning of spring in The Netherlands. To my surprise I encountered already blooming cherry blossoms in my neighborhood this afternoon. In the previous two years the cherry blossoms only started to bloom in the first week of April. I recently made a short excursion with my brother to the popular Dutch tourist destination Kinderdijk. Kinderdijk is known because of it’s many windmills and is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites and attracts many tourists.
