Continue reading

November in Japan

Another month has already passed! Time really flies, and it seems to fly even faster here in the country of the rising sun. In general, life here can be said to be at much faster pace than for example in The Netherlands. As there is always something to do or to see, or to study or do research about, I have few if any moments to get bored. As a consequence of always being busy, … Continue reading

The Times They Are A-Changing

Yes, the times they are changing. This week it became painfully clear that summer is definitely over and autumn has arrived here in Japan. I should have known and perhaps prepared as the signs were there: it became dark earlier and earlier, the temperature dropped and the first leaves started to fall from the trees. Perhaps I did notice what was happening but didn’t want to acknowledge it. For me the autumn and winter months … Continue reading

Time is flying by: an update from Tokyo

Although I had (and have) the intention of regularly updating the website, I just cannot find the time to do it. Ofcourse this could be interpreted as a positive thing: there is so much to see and do here in Tokyo that I simply don’t have the time to work on my website. However, as I slept to long today and missed class I decided to make up for it and write a update here. … Continue reading

Living in Tokyo: Willing Setagaya

As you might have noticed, I haven’t updated the website much lately. The reason for this is that I simply cannot find the time to sit down behind my laptop and write a update. But after much time here is another small update, mostly consisting of photo’s. I thought it would be a good idea to break up everything noteworthy into smaller parts, so that I perhaps can update the site more regularly. In this … Continue reading

Ima, Tokyo ni imasu (now in Tokyo)

So, finally I have some time to write an update. Every since my arrival in Japan things have been like crazy: first I had a terrible jetlag, plus it was (and is) incredibly hot and humid. The first few days in Japan I felt like a zombie: it was almost I was living a dream or something like that. In Kyoto it was even hotter, the Kansai (where Kyoto is) is known for it’s hot … Continue reading

Arrival in Japan

Konbanwa! Here’s a little update from me from Kyoto, Japan. Unfortunately I can’t use my own laptop at the moment, because there is a problem with the power cable and the powerconverter (there is a different power connector in Japan than in The Netherlands). Therefore I will keep this message short, also I cannot publish my photo’s yet. Anyway: I arrived in Japan on monday 9.30 local time, after a 11 hour exhausting flight. While … Continue reading
